Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome

This entity usually happens in athletes who exert prolonged strenuous activities. Usually affects the calf muscles;
The person usually feels the tightness of calf and aggravation of pain with walking.
Most acute muscle spasms presenting in a similar fashion, usually respond to a course of pain killers and muscle relaxants;
however chronic exertional compartment syndrome may often require surgical release.
